Permanent Residency (PR) is awarded immediately upon investment approval, with ID (cédula) and TIN issued within roughly 30 days .

After five years of legal residence, investors may apply for citizenship. Requirements include basic Spanish proficiency and familiarity with Panamanian civics and history. Dual citizenship is effectively permitted in practice, though not legally recognized.
