Family Inclusion

Family Inclusion

Greece’s Golden Visa program permits generous family reunification provisions under Article 20B of Law 4251/2014. Dependents may apply concurrently or join later through a family unification procedure.

Eligible Dependents

  • Spouse or registered partner under Greek civil partnership laws
  • Children under 21 (both the main applicant’s and spouse’s)
  • Dependent parents of either the investor or their spouse

Adult children may retain their residence rights until age 24, if they are enrolled in full-time education. After that, they may convert to an independent residence status if criteria are met.

Documentation and Financial Support

Proof of family relationship must be submitted in the form of:

  • Apostilled marriage or birth certificates
  • Certified translations into Greek
  • Financial documents establishing dependency, where applicable

There are no additional investment thresholds per dependent, and no maintenance income requirements, making this one of the most family-friendly programs in the EU.

Strategic Considerations

Clients should ideally include all dependents at the initial submission to reduce legal fees, avoid secondary document submissions, and lock in against potential future regulatory tightening. Adult children nearing 21 may consider securing their own permits concurrently to avoid cutoff complications.
