Indonesia Golden Visa in 2026: 5 or 10 Years for Investors
Indonesia's golden visas give individual investors a limited stay permit for 5 or 10 years, with no sponsor. Two routes suit private investors. Under E28C, you hold Indonesian government bonds, listed shares or funds from US$350,000, or an apartment worth US$1 million. Under E28B, you set up an Indonesian company with US$2.5 million or US$5 million.

Who runs it?
The Directorate General of Immigration issues the visas. You apply with an account at evisa.imigrasi.go.id. The legal basis includes Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulations 22 of 2023 and 11 of 2024 on visas and stay permits (E28C). Translations from Indonesian are our own.

How the investment works
Capital market investor (E28C). You show ownership of Indonesian government bonds, shares in public companies in Indonesia, or mutual funds:
- at least US$350,000 for a 5-year stay;
- at least US$700,000 for a 10-year stay.
For 10 years, you can instead show ownership of an apartment (rumah susun) worth at least US$1 million.
Company founder (E28B). You commit to set up a company in Indonesia with issued capital or an investment value of at least US$2.5 million for 5 years, or US$5 million for 10 years. You must meet the commitment within 90 days of entering Indonesia. You also provide proof of shareholding in a company outside Indonesia and its turnover, from internationally audited accounts (E28B). E28B holders may sit on the board of directors or commissioners of the company they invest in, and may oversee its production.
03
What does it cost?
The government fee for a 5-year stay is Rp13 million: Rp7 million for the stay permit, Rp500,000 for the visa, Rp2 million for verification, and Rp3.5 million for the re-entry permit. For 10 years it is Rp19.5 million. Processing takes five working days after payment.
04
What happens after the visa is issued?
The visa is valid for 90 days. Once an officer admits you at the border, your limited stay permit (ITAS) and re-entry permit are issued automatically. The stay can be extended or changed to another limited stay permit.
05
Which family members are included?
Immigration says you can bring your family to live in Indonesia. The pages we cite don't define which relatives count, so confirm before you apply.
06
What should families from Asia and the Gulf check?
Tax. We make no tax claim here. Check your Indonesian tax residence position with an adviser before moving.
In our view, the E28C securities route is the simplest entry for families who want a long Indonesian stay without running a business.
